System
  • Stores molds and dies on trays in high-density unit load use point manager buffer.
  • Provides independent delivery and return of molds from the injection molding area and dies from the stamping area.
  • Within the shop, each toolmaker can selectively request a specific mold or die for repair, rebuild, or setup.
  • Ready-to-run molds and dies are stored in the unit load use point manager.
  • All tooling inventory is under computer control.
Results

  • Damage from mishandling (hits, drops, accessory damage) is virtually eliminated.
  • Expensive and proprietary tool inventory is stored in a vault with excellent environmental and fire protection systems.
  • Molds and dies are delivered at an ergonomically correct height to locations closest to the tool makers' workstations.
  • Molds and dies are delivered approximately 45 seconds after they are ordered by the tool makers.
