Material Handling Information - Mini Load Automated Buffer

Material Storage Buffers
Mini Load Automated Buffer
The Mini Load is a high-density tote or box buffer designed to maximize vertical storage space while maintaining a compact footprint. A high-speed Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine moves loads quickly and accurately to support high-volume order picking operations. Several models are available to handle loads from 110 to 330 lbs. and rack heights up to 50 ft. Multiple input/output and integration options are available to streamline material flow.

Operations
  • Input
    • Loads delivered to end-of-aisle or in-rack input Pickup & Deposit (P&D) station via conveyor or manually.
    • S/R machine shuttle picks up load, stores it in random rack location.
  • Output
    • S/R machine shuttle retrieves load from rack as directed by control software.
    • S/R machine shuttle delivers load to P&D station for output to conveyor or manual picking.
Applications
  • Forward pick operations.
  • Recommended applications by product type:
    • Buffering and storage for raw material and/or finished goods.
    • Work-in-process buffering for small items.
  • Replacement applications:
    • Conventional static rack.
    • Carousels.
