system at Motorola LMPS directs workers to consolidate orders,
verifying each item as it is consolidated.
Problem
Picking the wrong part number.
Putting the pick in the wrong order container.
Missing lines.
Solution
Positively identify the tote as it enters a pick area using bar code scanner or have a 3-4 digit alphanumeric name on the container and display that name on the pick-to-light signal bar.
Use pick-to-light technology to identify the pick-from location.
Positively identify the pick-from part location by reading the bar code label for each picked material, then positively identify the pick-to tote by scanning the bar code identity of the put to container.
