Inventory
No FIFO Material Control
Without FIFO control, inventory may be stored past its expiration date, making it unsaleable and wasting warehouse space.
Flow rack
supports FIFO control of inventory.
Problem
Inventory not retrieved by expiration date.

Use
Warehouse Management Software (WMS)
and RF terminals to:
Identify expiration issues at putaway.
Retrieve items in FIFO (or modified FIFO) order.
Automatically quarantine or retrieve outdated materials.
Disallow different product dates in the same location.

Use
flow rack
type storage where appropriate.
Store pallets in single-deep rack where appropriate.
Minimize pallet stacking.
Use automated storage equipment such as
