Material Storage Selection Guide
Instructions:

Enter the responses to the questions in the answer column, then click "submit." Based on your answers, Material Handling Info.com will show you which types of material storage systems are best suited for your application.

Assumptions:

  1. This worksheet is designed to help you select an appropriate storage medium for a specific type of inventory. If your inventory has various sizes and picking schemes, you should divide your inventory into groups of similar products, then complete a separate worksheet for each group. This will give you some idea on what a hybrid system would look like.
  2. This worksheet calculates most answers based on standard configurations for each storage technology. It does not consider customized storage systems.
